Coaching isn’t just good for athletes—it can also help professionals from doctors to lawyers to scientists to musicians get better at what they do, according to Dr. Atul Gawande. Dr. Atul Gwande gave a TED talk on how professionals could benefit from coaching. He recounted how, as a younger surgeon, he saw his complication rates go down after a former professor observed him in the operating room and made suggestions for improvement.


Having a good coach to provide a more accurate picture of our reality, to instill positive habits of thinking, and to break our actions down and then help us build them back up again. "It's not how good you are now; it's how good you're going to be that really matters,"
